Michaelle

Hi there,
Just a quick note from Milano, I have been hitting the streets looking for a job as a chef and its hard work ! I really need to learn more Italian !!!

But I have found a job teaching English to get some money while i keep looking for a job as a chef. So am really happy about that, walked in to a new language school and they had a contract under my nose within 20 minutes !
It seems there is a real shortage, the pay is great and i can decide how much i want to work which is great as i hope to get another job chefing as well.
Great working enviroment I'm one of 2 guys amoungst 8 Italian women so happy about that and should be a great way to meet people and make contacts for more work.
Hope to head back to the lake next week to ride my bike a bit before i start work on the 3rd. Hope you're all well and getting a little spring air, let me know how you're all doing.

Festival time here in Japan

Hi again, I'm back on line with a new computer - this time an iMac. I highly recommend a switch for anyone hesitating...

Anyways, I can finally sort out some photos and get some recent ones uploaded. Japan goes festival crazy, come Summer/Autumn and after 6 years in this country they still entertain. Amy goes for the drums, Dad for the chocolate bananas and Mum for a break!!

This little kid in the middle danced hard !

Take care Amy Hitomi and Del

Friday

Hi from Amy

Kia Ora and Konichiwa!

Times flying as we wind down to the last few months in Japan...

Two weeks ago we moved into an apartment next to the in-laws and Hitomi and I finished up at work (YEAH!!!)
Amy`s into it all, Baba (Grandma) has the meanest garden full of bugs, imaginary monsters and massive tomatoes!
It`s a warm end to summer here with a few Typhoons to come, nice coolish nights now and should be just cold enough before we all head back to New Zealand a second summer...ahhh

Amy`s into cutting up Dad`s drawings, dancing, singing and sporatic English and catching and squashing anything that moves...Amy and Dragonfly

Dad`s bought a new camera and I hope to get some regular shots uploaded to dish up a pot-luck portrait of Japanese life.
It`s nice to have the time to enjoy Japan again.

We`re up in the north (Iwate Prefecture) on the east coast. The water`s getting cold but the wetsuit`s keeping the numbness away when out surfing. We`re all going to a Futsal Tournament this weekend up on a mountain called
Mt Iwaki, not sure how the lungs`ll cope!

(But I`ll keep you posted..)
